Hello Members,

On Monday 3rd November we held an information night for our Members to discuss the Board’s proposed plans to secure our Club’s future with an over 55’s development on our property. Part of the presentation that night also included our plans to fully renovate and upgrade our clubhouse.

The meeting was well attended, with around 80 Members present. The purpose of the meeting was to convey to our membership the need for us to explore development options, to explain the workings of an arrangement with a developer, and the benefits such a course of action would provide to our Club.

The Board is committed to keeping our Members fully informed throughout the long process which is in front of us, and to that end the entire evening’s proceedings were recorded. The introductory message, the presentation and all questions asked and answers provided, are now published on our website.

It is important to note that no decisions were made on the night. We are a long way from making any firm decisions on our future just yet, and no final decisions can be made without the approval of the membership. The opportunity was provided for those present to question Board representatives Kim Batcheldor, Craig Fretwell and myself about all aspects of the plans. If we didn’t have all the answers at our disposal on the night, we undertook to pursue those answers as promptly as possible.

We recognise that only around 10% of our membership was present for the information night, and it is vital that all our Members are fully informed. Many questions which the membership at large who were not present may have, might have already been asked and answered on that night. I urge all our Members to look at the information provided on our website.

There will no doubt be many more questions which we will be only too happy to answer. I ask that any queries go through our General Manager in writing, and we will provide a quick response.

Members will have future opportunities to keep up to speed and to convey their thoughts regarding all aspects of the development. We know that transparency is key and the meeting held on 3rd November was the first of many. We anticipate more meetings in the months to come.
