Thank you for considering making a donation to the AGC Foundation.
For many years Asquith Golf Club has had the philosophy of generating funds for Club development which were utilised for both Course and Clubhouse projects. Over time, the separation of specific projects for Course development and general upkeep of the Course became blurred with maintenance costs rising significantly.
The AGC Foundation has been established in conjunction with the Australian Sports Foundation and is specifically designed to receive financial donations which are deemed tax deductible under a DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status. This status is determined by application to the Australian Taxation Office.
The Australian Sports Foundation has been in existence since 1986 and has a number of sports community partners including the Australian Institute of Sport and the Sports Commission.
The AGC Foundation’s purpose is to create funds for the exclusive expenditure for the Asquith Golf Club Golf Course through specific projects that improve our course. These funds may not be used for general maintenance.
The AGC Foundation Committee comprising of Derek Scaife (Chair), George Comino (Past President), David Beal (Past Club Captain) and Dilys Geddes (Vice President) will determine which projects qualify for funding and approve and monitor expenditure. All grant applications for golf course improvement funding by the AGC Foundation will be submitted to the Committee by the AGC Board, however all funds remain in trust under Asquith Golf Club.
The AGC Board will determine specific improvement projects which fall within the grant guidelines determined by the AGC Foundation Committee. Once approved by the AGC Foundation Committee, specific projects will be published.
Contributions may be made via a portal through the Australian Sports Foundation or through the Club’s office. Asquith Golf Club must submit proof of expenditure to the Australian Sports Foundation whenever funds are expended for course improvement.
The AGC Foundation is a long-term strategy and it is important to accumulate funds for significant course improvements. Both Members and the general public are encouraged to support this now as well as consider bequests from deceased estates should they feel it is appropriate.
As mentioned, donations are fully tax deductible and any donation greater than $1,000 will be recognised by way of the individual becoming an AGC Foundation Member.
