Hall of Fame Nomination

HALL OF FAME – NOMINATION
The purpose of this form is to enable nominations to the Asquith Golf Club Hall of Fame to be submitted and considered in an orderly and equitable manner within the framework developed by the Board.
Induction into the Hall of Fame will occur annually at the Asquith Golf Club Annual General Meeting (AGM). Successful nominations will have a plaque erected in the Clubhouse summarising their contributions and a certificate of induction. In addition, a photograph and a summary of their contributions will be posted on the Club’s website.
Background
The Club already has several ways of recognising the contributions made by individuals to its development, such as:
- Life Membership
- Plaques around the course
- Photographs of representative teams within the Clubhouse
- Championship winners, Asquith Cup winners, Senior Office Bearers on the Honour Boards and in the books on the history of the Club published in 1998 & 2013
However, there is still a number of people who have had a long term association with the Club that have contributed in many ways and deserve recognition. By inducting these people into the Hall of Fame their contribution will be recognised and it will aid in preserving the history and continue to develop the traditions of the Club.
Who is Eligible?
Anyone (living or deceased) who has had an extensive association with the Club and has made a significant contribution in terms of the criteria described below.
Current Life Members are not eligible to be nominated, however they can nominate or second a proposed nomination of others into the Hall of Fame.
How do I submit nominations?
Nominations must be submitted to the General Manager in writing on this form or via email covering of all the criteria requirements. This must be signed or endorsed by a proposer and seconder, at least one of which must be a current member of Asquith Golf Club (any category). If the nomination is successful, the proposer or seconder, may also be asked to make a brief presentation at the AGM induction ceremony.
When can nominations be made?
Nominations can be made at any time to the General Manager. However, awards will only be made annually.
How will nominations be assessed?
All nominations will be considered by a Hall of Fame Committee and then endorsed by the Board whose decision will be final and no reasons for the decision will be given.
Successful applicants and their proposers will be notified, and the nominee will have the option to accept or decline the honour.
The proposers of unsuccessful applicants will also be notified.
CRITERIA
All applications will be considered on the basis of the following criteria. Nominees should have made a significant contribution in at least two of the areas below.
Proposers should list and describe the nominee’s achievements in the areas appropriate for that particular nominee. (Not all areas need to be addressed. If there is insufficient room extra pages can be included).
Notwithstanding any of the criteria required below, there is an overarching criteria that all nominees must be of sound character and have acted in a manner that is worthy of the Club.
