Club Championship Details

The Match Committee have set out the Handicap Limits for the grades for the Club Championships.

Handicap Ranges:
A Grade 0-9
A Reserve 10-13
B Grade 14-18
C Grade 19-27

(Previous decision in regards to over 27 handicap has BEEN RESCINDED by the Captain.  We apologise for the inconvenience.)

After 36 Holes the Top 20 A-Grade players will qualify for the final two rounds.
Other Grades the Top 16 players will qualify.
(At the end of all four rounds, the Top 12 players in A Grade, and the Top 8 players in other grades will Qualify for the Match Play Championships)

Bookings for the first round shall be duplicated AFTER all players have been hit off on the first round.  Should members need to change tee times, they can do so late Saturday afternoon/evening onwards.

PREFERED LIES
Due to the state of the fairways following recent wet weather, Preferred Lies on the Closely Mown Portion, will be in effect from Saturday 28th August and for at least the first two rounds of the championships. If you and your marker are unable to agree on whether the ball lies on a "Closely Mown Portion", the ball is to be played as it lies. Please refer to the Local Rules Board for further information.

Junior Captain and Vice Captain Appointed

Scott Hogarth has stood down as our Junior Captain after many fine years of service.
We would like to congratulate our new Junior Captain, Cameron Olliver with our Vice Captain being William Miles.  Both of these Junior Members are there to bridge a gap between our junior and senior members, and allow the juniors to have a voice.  If you as a junior would like to put forward an idea, or get to know the other juniors better, please feel free to speak with these guys, contact them via their number in the Fixture Book, or ask the Pro Shop or Office to put you in contact with them.  And junior members, don't forget to update your EMAIL ADDRESS online via the memebrs login so we can keep in contact with you.

New Changes to Handicap System

The Board of Golf Australia has announced that Australia is moving to the United States Golf Association System.  The system was to be introduced on 1st February 2010, however this has been postponed by Golf Australia to the NEW date of Friday 9th April 2010.   When the system does come in, members will not need to do anything different as Golflink will take care of all calculations.

For those members who wish to learn more details about the change over please go to Golf Australia's website on http://www.agu.org.au/default.aspx?s=usgahandicapping

Asquith Golf Club will try to keep members informed and up to date via our noticeboard, newsletter and website, however your best source is the Golf Australia website.
